Man, I feel you, OP.

I'm in an English Lit grad program and I could not stand this book. I can acknowledge that it had literally value in context as an experience in stream-of-consciousness and reflection on modern bourgeois whatever whatever, but my god was it dull. I quit halfway through.

I did really like the 3 pages of the kid imagining giant animals at the beach or whatever it was. That was lovely writing.

I'd definitely be interested in hearing about how other Woolf books are different, though, because I want to try again with something else someday.
