I'm wondering where all that recent TTGL hate comes from. I mean, isn't it like... already old?

Yeah it ended last September. But, it is still pretty popular, so if it stays popular, you can be certain people will continue to dislike it. But two similar posts in one week is kinda new.

But when I checked for Yoko fics a few weeks ago there wasn't anything ):

Yoko is too good for fic. Also most people are probably too busy shipping Kamina with Simon to remember Yoko.

You know, that's just so typical. One time I don't go for the slash/incest pairing and actually like a female character, fandom lets me down.

There are only three actual pairings in the whole show. I like them, except for one. Niaaaaaa >:|

DUDE THANK YOU. I hate her fucking eyes and her hair and everything else about her and I don't care if she made Simon happy (but I'm glad Simon did come out of his depression). I do like the irony of her being Lord Genome's daughter but really being an anti spiral whatever though.

I AIM TO PLEASE, BB. At first, I was happy, because she's blonde, and blonde heroines that don't suck are kind of really, really rare. And then I saw her eyes. And then she isn't just some girl,. no she's the daughter of the uber-evul. And everyone just immediately likes her. MARY SUE CLICHÉS GO!

Well, they didn't know who her father was at first. Also they didn't realise she secretly wanted them all dead. You can't blame them for taking a shine to her. I didn't mind her at first, even if she was a twit. It's only when she was all killlll killllhf'jkd that I was like alright gtfo.

You know, I can buy the special eyes. If there's a reason, except for SHE'S JUST SPESHUL OKAY. Same with Twilight, at first Mister Awesome Vampire only noticed The Girl becasue she smeels like nothing he's ever smelled before or something. And there's no explanation for that either. I'D EVEN BUY: BECAUSE OF HER UNTAINTED SOUL OR SOME BULLSHIT JUST GIVE ME A REASON ):

I'm not that person. My problem is with the "TTGL is the best thing since Jesus and if you don't agree you're too stupid to understand the greatness of the show" people, not (potentially sane) fans of a certain character.

You get crazies in every fandom who will probably tear you a new one if you don't like whatever they do. So what?

I find these crazies more annoying than most? Maybe it's because I know many people from the net or IRL who used to be pretty sane until they watched TTGL. Ever since then they're "OMG IT'S THE AWESOMEST SHOW LIEK FOREVAH EVERYTHING PALES NEXT TO IT" and "what, you don't like it? man, let me tell you at length why you're wrong about it and why you should love it!" and "you're still not interested? then you don't understand the greatness of it, go back watching whatever worthless and stupid show you're into at the moment."

And that's just me and other people who didn't finish the show. Let's not even get into what happens when someone watches the whole thing and doesn't like it. SACRILEGE!

Nice attempt to deliberately misunderstand what I'm saying, but not good enough.

Y'know there's a difference between being into a show, and being into a show and not accepting that others may not like it. Also, there's a difference between thinking something is awesome, and not being able to shut up about how fucking awesome it is and those who don't think so are too stupid to understand it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is one of my favourite shows from recent years. I know, and appreciate that not everybody is going to like it, and that doesn't bother me. I manage to avoid the crazies from that fandom, and from every other fandom for things I enjoy to read/watch. I just avoid wherever they are. So simple. I do get what you're saying, but it's like telling a devout Christian that God doesn't exist. They won't listen to you, no matter what you say or do.
