I think there were three new ones after Molly- Kit, Kaya, and the hippie one (Jessica? Jennifer? something similar?).

The original thre were Kirsten, Molly, and Samantha. Then Felicity, Addy, Josefina, Kit, Kaya, and Julie. This does not include the best friends Nellie, Elizabeth, Emily, Ivy, and Ruthie. Or the Girls of the year.

Yeah, Samantha was the pilot doll and when the catalogue started, she was released with Kirsten and Molly. Best friend dolls were released with their series' movie, save for Ivy, who was created at the same time as Julie, I believe.

Buy it! It's a really good game! It's fun to play, and work your way through the missions, but the game controls are a little fiddly to begin with. Learn them and the rest will be easy (:
