Does this crap annoy anyone else? "oh my god, how can you possibly find your sexuality and sense of self important, that is so backwards." Yeah, I agree people should put less emphasis on labels and categories, but how fucking high and mighty do you sound? Have you seen the societies many of us have to live in? Have some respect for what people go through, because not everyone is lucky enough to be able to let things go so easily.

Yeah, I agree. In theory, it would be nice to abandon "quaint little categories" and just embrace new developments in your sexuality without a second thought. But the nature of society and the way that most cultures almost force gender and sexuality to form a central part of our identities (not to mention the cultural stigma attached to some expressions thereof) means that it simply isn't realistic to expect that.

Haha, I'm not sure I said anything new there, but eh. And I hate people using Jack to justify that argument as much as I hate people complaining that he can't be omnisexual unless he's shown sexing up people of all genders and species on the show. Jack is from the 51st Century, he grew up in a fictional culture vastly different from those that exist in today's reality. Of course sexuality is easier for him to navigate.
