That's the one episode I saw the end of! He was so very hard core! But I got the sense that it was his grand exit so I was like, well, if the show is like, "you are vaguely cool but we actually cannot use you" you know, if he's the SV Pete of the show, then not so much.

That wasn't his grand exit, though. You see him in two more episodes after that, but as far as I know, that's it :(

At least he wasn't regulated to product placement and "aw, MAAAN" like SV Pete was (and SV has a longstanding history of diminishing and/or making the black male characters work for white men). I didn't really like Mickey at first, but when he came on board the Tardis, he became awesome. I wish he'd been around longer. :( And I do consider him a companion. He's been in as many eps as Jack has. I miss both Jack and Mickey. He's also just as attractive as Ten, I think. (But I also think Ten looks a bit like an owl.)
