Melanie Martinez's former friend claims she sexually assaulted her. Melanie seems to be claiming it was consensual, but not denying the sexual contact happened.

Of all the people getting accused to rape/sexual assault lately... she's really not one I would have expected.

There are plenty of male celebrities who I would be surprised to hear the same accusations about. Please don't put words into people's mouths.

I guess I’m glad that most of my celebrity idols are relatively obscure, dead, or both, because I have no clue who a lot of these people are, and unless there are posthumous allegations against my faves, there’s not many famous people I would be heartbroken to learn were abusers. I’m more just pissed that so much of the outrage is directed at Hollywood and, to a lesser extent, politics, because this shit happens everywhere. No industry, organization, or profession is immune.

I was a fan of some of her songs, but "she didn't say no" is just.....yeah, deleted everything I had of hers.

Yeah. I've been a fan of Melanie's since I saw her on "The Voice", and cheered for her since we're from the same city.

But this creeped me the hell out. My abuser could have said the same thing. I "didn't say no", but she did pull out the "I won't be your friend if you don't do this to me/let me do this to you". Repeatedly. When I was a lonely and friendless pre-teen.
