wtf are you talking about? Bucky ran and Tony literally chased after him to kill him. He didn't just want to "beat on Bucky" (and are you seriously trying to say it's better that he just wanted to beat Bucky nearly to death?). He was trying to kill him. They make that as clear as day. Tony's still trying to kill Bucky even after his suit's sustained major damage.

So no, Steve was not a "shit". The shield slam was pretty brutal, but since Tony showed no sign of stopping his murderous rampage, wtf did you want him to do? Words had already failed.

No, it's not the Steve Rogers we love, because the whole point of the ENTIRE MOVIE (hell, the entire Cap trilogy) was that that version of Steve Rogers doesn't exist. He's not and never has been mister nice all-American apple pie guy, he's a flawed person. A person who's consistently shown in all 3 cap movies that he values Bucky more than he values anything else.

My view of the battle was different, because I saw Bucky reaching for Tony's heart with his metal hand. I believe restraint is why Tony ended up on the ground. He could have used his lasers at any time if he was out for a kill. He could have sliced and diced in that confined space. Or what about his rocket launchers? And yes, beating on a supersoldier with an Iron Man suit is horrible. I can't imagine the force of his blows. Tony was guilty of the very sin he'd been advocating against all this time. So stupid and OOC.

And after Tony was down, what was Steve's so righteous pain that he couldn't back off? Oh, you hurt my buddy so I'll almost kill you? That was Steve's excuse for everything. It was so out of character--Steve Rogers Maiming cops! Steve hurting innocent civilians, Steve insisting he could invade any nation he pleased. The movie had Steve's sole motivation for everything as Bucky, yet that isn't a hero of the people. That's basically lawlessness. A personal motivation with no care for true justice.

CA:CW was stupid from end to end. All for pretty battle scenes. That's all the producers wanted and logic had nothing to do with anything. People in fandom secrets love to hate on Tony but I'm sorry, the writers wanted it that way. They wanted people to hate on both sides, so they wrote it fuzzy. They don't ever explain the Accords fully and since they don't explain them, half the people have a hair-trigger hatred of anything infringing their freedoms (like Steve) and the other half assume that 117 countries and the UN want the Avengers to stop unilaterally invading independent nations like a rampaging military force. Which, since the Avengers have no remit otherwise, well, sign the Accords or get a job at the grocery store, Steve.

But I'm done with the franchise either way.

Dude they make it pretty clear in the movie that Tony's gone into a murderous bloodrage and literally just wants to rip Bucky apart with his bare hands. He's beyond thinking of things like lasers, he's trying to beat him to death. The Winter Soldier killed his parents so he's going to kill Bucky. He's not "holding back". And no, that isn't OOC for Tony at all. Tony's always been an overemotional hothead who makes bad decisions, that's what makes him a great character.

Just like it's not OOC that Steve constantly chooses Bucky over everything else in every movie. He's done that in EVERY Cap movie. That's why he doesn't think he's a hero of the people, and why ultimately IS a hero of the people. Because he's defending Bucky who is a victim of fascism, when Bucky has no power to defend himself. (Note: Bucky represents the audience and the disenfranchised masses of the world, who're being used in the machine of war but can't break free from the shackles of the govt.) And in the process of protecting Bucky he's defending EVERYONE against the dystopian Big Brother state that the UN/Hydra is trying to impose on the world. (And, it's no surprise that this plot is supported by Tony, a wealthy mega-celebrity who'll experience no personal harm from it.)

idk why you think Steve Rogers has ever been pro-cops or pro-govt. The dude is literally written as an anti-fascist socialist. Or where you're getting the "invade any nation he pleased" thing. Are you the anon from the other day who was pissy about the Sokovia Accords?

not op, but steve comes off pretty damn fascist himself with the 'the only safe hands are our own' line, tbh.
