I'll try and keep it short so my fannishness doesn't confuse things (I fell in love with the original in the '80's and enjoy the current Netflix reboot).

"Voltron" is one big robot made up of five smaller lion-shaped robots. The individuals shippers primarily go crazy about are the pilots of those five lions. There's a black, red, blue, green, and yellow lion. All the pilots are teenagers/young adults. Which leads to lots of shipping and wank bait.

That's the very generic, mostly spoiler-free explanation. :)

Okay, so there *are* robots.
Then - what are the big robots...oh wait, those are Transformers.... Except there's a cartoon, too?

My gods, so much confusion.

But your explanation is awesome, and i can understand wanting to ship lion robot pilots. Sounds neat!
