Harry Potter can cross over with almost anything set on Earth, except Doctor Who, because of the science/fantasy conflict.

Having read a few fics of the type, HP can also cross over with Mass Effect when one treats magic and biotics as related effects. For the same reason Mass Effect and Dragon Age can cross.

I do not like direct crosses with LotR, but fusions, Modern Earth retellings and reincarnation AUs can work for me.

But I think my favourite is one I created in RP - my Silmaril characters being stuck in Thedas for 1000+ years after an attempt to escape Morgoth. They ultimately had to face going back into captivity, but had been told they would eventually be freed.
