What’s with the parentheses around the guy’s name? I see it in a lot of screenshots of stuff. Does it mean it’s an OOC side account for someone who mainly RPs?

I’m not an expert, but it started as a discrimination/intimidation/bigotry thing with alt-right/neo-Nazis putting the names of Jewish people in multiple parentheses to, I dunno, mark them as targets, I guess? And then actual Jewish people started doing it to reclaim it and maybe some liberal activists started doing it in a Number the Stars kind of way. I don’t want to google because I don’t want to end up on a Nazi site by mistake or something. If anyone has more or better info please chime in.

The Daily Stormer podcast started doing an echo effect when saying the names of people they opposed with stereotypical jewish names like Goldstein or whatever, to draw attention to their jewish background.

The (((thing))) became a way of representing that in text and got popularised by 4chan. There was then some kind of alt right twitter bot you could get that would stick the around people marked as being part of the marxist jewish conspiracy or whatever?
