Angel Sanctuary isn't the end all and be all of angel stories, you know. The research done into actual angelic mythology is weak at best and ignorant at worst, such as the use of the Grigori in the book. It is a complete and utter departure from the actual mythology of the Grigori found in the book of Enoch.

It also bastardizes an already maligned-for-centuries Christian sect known collectively as Gnostics by using one of the most holy aeons, Barbelo, as a demonic figure rather as the positive force of light that she is in traditional Gnostic mythology.
