129. Every time I sit down to write fic I think about how I should be writing an original novel instead. I still haven't written that novel, but I have written a lot of fic. So you and me both there. :/

133. I think a lot of the time the fic has a relationship working up to sex and once they've done it, it's hard for the relationship to go anywhere and all the juicy UST that made the fic a page-turner is lost. I actually prefer couple X to have sex at the BEGINNING of the fic (and I almost always do that in my own fics) so that the sexual tension is dispersed right away and the tension in the fic has to revolve around purely emotional issues.

Of course, this doesn't work for every pairing though my kind of pairings are usually down with the casual sex. :P

I think the important part is recognizing sex not as a peak or a culmination of a relationship, but as a separate element in itself, a part of a relationship, not the ultimate expression of love.
