The terrible things she's been through is illness, a miscarriage and breaking up with her fiance, and even aside from the fact that going through hard stuff doesn't give you an excuse to be a shitty human being, she was unbearable even before those things happened, and I blame her for the breakup because she treated her fiance like crap. She's an awful character, and the main reason I'm seriously considering quitting the show.
