What did you think?

I don't take these movies seriously, but I was extremely bored by the last two. TLJ was more fun, I think, and I liked Benicio Del Toro's character, despite how little we saw of him. I'll definitely be reading his one-shot comic at the end of next month.

Everything else was just a good time.

The one thing I hate though is how it handles tension. There is too much humour in a lot of the wrong places that feel like a slap-in-the-face-reminder that you are watching a Disney film.

I think that might be what bugged me about a lot of the humor moments in TLJ. It just...completely took me out of the moment and left me going, "....the fuck???? what was THAT for???"

YES, this.

Liked many parts of it. Costumes, music, cinematography were all great. Hamill and Fisher were good. Adam Driver was... vaguely attractive for some reason. O_o I thought they should have cut the casino plot entirely, it really bogged down the pace for no payoff. Leia should have stayed dead when she was airlocked, it would have been a sensible place to write Carrie out and given Luke more reason to get off the island and help. That said, his astral fakeout was awesome.

Those are my thoughts,

Didn't hate it nearly as much as I thought.

My one big theory is still pretty sound considering who was telling her the "truth."

Loved it. Despite the fact that I gorged myself on spoilers, I was surprised by quite a bit in this movie. It also felt much less familiar than TFA did. I liked Yoda for the first time ever!

It was also absolutely gorgeous just on a cinematography level.

I was glad it didn't feel exactly like a retread of ESB the way TFA did of ANH (whoo, acronyms!).

That said, it DID feel kinda like they tried to squish parts of ESB, ROTJ, and some new ideas all into one movie. There was stuff they could've cut out that really wouldn't have made much difference to the movie at all.

Yoda creeped me out, to be honest. I was cringing the whole time he was on screen even if he did have good advice for Luke.

You're right about the movie being gorgeous though. :)
