This season's quite clunky. It looks as though people are just being moved round so they're in the right places for S8 but unfortunately it also looks as if Dany/Dull McDullface are going to be endgame.

Can't see why he's being set up as so principled either. He doesn't lie, he won't bend the knee. Neither does he the Lannisters that the Dead can be killed with dragon-glass and that could be vital information for the survival of Westeros.

That's why he's so principled, because he doesn't lie. He's like Ned expect where Ned's belief that Westeros's Honor Culture actually means anything got him killed, Jon succeeds because plot. Jon died too for the same reason as Ned but got to come back to life. Side note: that's also why I have a very hard time seeing him a Targaryen. Jon is pure, not from concentrate Stark. I really hope they don't try and bullshit us by listing some Targaryen traits that Jon supposedly has.

I laughed at "Dull McDullface." I think they'll be end game, too as long as neither dies. I'll be really pissed if Daenerys dies and Jon sits on the Iron Throne at the end. I'm not a feminist but I agree the trope in fiction where a guy takes the lead role in the story where it should have been the woman's because her background and abilities make her more suitable to be the hero than the guy but she gets sidelined to be his love interest needs to not exist anymore. Not that it ever did but still.

Maybe GRRM thinks nurture beats nature? He may be a Targaryen by blood, but Ned Stark raised him.

Not entirely, because Lyanna is still his mommy. He's Targaryen by the patrilineal system of inheritance, not in worldview or personality.
