It's weird and trendy to hate VII, most people don't even know why they're doing it, I think. :/

Yeah, really. :| Most often I think it's because FFVII's popularity tends to overshadow the other titles a bit. Which, can be true in some cases but haters usually forget that most people were introduced to the franchise because of it. Despite it's imperfections, it holds a special place in my heart. <3 :D;;

It does, and some of the compilation was pretty icky but that doesn't mean the game was bad. I think a lot of it was the OLD SCHOOL HARDCORES being like "omgz FFVII sucks they're selling out!!" or something, which then got picked up by a lot of gaming websites and then became a mini-phenomenon in the whole gaming community. Which is dumb. Because that has nothing to do with the actual game, which did bring the genre to a lot of people and had to have been good at something to do that.
