Re: Why Do You Ship What You Ship

A lot of my ships fall into two categories. The first category is ships where the characters either a) really respect each other regardless of whether they're friends or rivals -or- b) there's the potential for them to really respect each other or get along really well. But to wind up together they'd have to overcome their differences, whether that's an opposites attract thing or a 'different sides of the war' thing. And the other category of ships I have is the True Love Destined For Each Other category.

So, for category one it's things like... Dorian/Cullen (they're besties despite being a mage and templar), Anders/Fenris (they don't get along but Fenris is the only person in the party that takes Anders seriously at all, plus there's the similar history with opposing viewpoints thing), Sephiroth/Zack (war buddies!), Garrus/Shepard (war buddies!), Altair/Malik (snarky assholes who can't get along but grow to respect each other), Shaun/Desmond (same thing), Merlin/Arthur (snarky best frieaaands), Spideypool (again), Snarry (war buddies mixed with snarky assholes who don't get along but grow to respect each other), etc.

For category two it's shit like Stucky or Thorki where THEIR LOVE IS THE PUREST LOVE it can destroy worlds and remake time itself and undo decades of brainwashing and so on.
