OP here. It does make me feel better to hear so many other people are motivated by spite in a positive way. It seems like there's a focus on positive emotions being associated with creating and negative with tearing down. Why did you write this fic? Well, because... I love it? You don't want to admit that every time you saw a fanart of your NOTP it motivated you to add another thousand words to your OTP fic because they deserve amazing stuff too.
