Same. And it totally makes sense in the show why few people would care about Barb. She is clearly isn't all that popular so kids at school probably wouldn't care. She also disappeared at the same time a small child did. Law enforcement is going to care far more about a missing 10 year old than a teenager who could have just run away.

It's the opposite actually. Two disappearances is a trend, which should have been investigated, even in the 80s when runaways were handled differently. People freaked out over every character's nonchalance of her disappearance in S1 because it was unrealistic. SOMEONE would have cared, yet on the show no one but Nancy cared.

Her parents probably cared but we didn't see them because we only saw like...2 sets of parents during the show. Every character we DID see was occupied by the cosmic horrors and government conspiracies or were assholes.
