Minor venting

I have to work tomorrow, and I don’t want to, even though my Christmas isn’t likely to be super stressful or require tons of prep. I dislike my boss, and one of our regulars is awful and hates me and at one point apparently his lawyer got a restraining order against him, but I can’t tell my boss that.

She’d probably whine to the higher-ups that googling the guy’s name, which I wouldn’t know except I have access to it as part of my job, is violating his privacy. He’s been physically violent towards customers and verbally abusive towards other staff as well as me, but she was gonna have him lodge a complaint about me, which won’t work if he’s banned for being an asshole.

He’s only allowed in on sufferance and because when he shoved another customer and cussed her out it was in a blind spot on the cameras, so we have no proof but the word of the shoved customer. And that customer had told my boss to her face that encouraging customers to be nasty to her employees (ie, me) was unprofessional shortly before dickbag shoved her, so my boss took dickbag’s side snd vouched for him to the higher-ups. I really hope he does something on camera that doesn’t hurt anyone but still merits a blanket ban from all our locations so the rest of us and our customers don’t have to deal with his bullshit.

So it seems like the problem here is basically that your boss actively wishes her employees harm?

AYRT—that would require that she think shit through enough to realize that her personal grudge is less important than that her employees and customers (and she herself, this guy apparently scared his lawyer badly and presumably she was on his side) are safe. I honestly don’t know if she can give her brain that much exercise. I don’t even know where her massive grudge started; I know I contributed to it, but by the time I knew about it she’d been letting it fester for years. I’ll be so relieved when our hours change and I won’t have to work with her anymore. Hopefully by the time they change again she’ll have retired. I wish the hogher-ups wouldn’t give her even weekend charge of our location; she’s an awful boss and they know it.
