You have this power in you as well, if you want to claim it. Or you can keep feeling inferior and resentful and brainwashed. Your choice!

Personally, I quite like Christmas, fancy tree and fancy presents and all. But I find your whole attitude here obtuse and insensitive. You're basically saying "If you don't bootstrap your way out of the cultural conditioning you've been inundated with, you're weak and you have only yourself to blame for feeling low," which is BS in my opinion.

I do agree that we all have to take some responsibility for our feelings, but it's really not half as simple as you're making it out to be - not for many people, anyway.
