Share recommendations for movies/shows/books/games you think others would enjoy!

I’ve been trying to find one of these as a gift to L.B. Lee, and I haven’t gotten very far. (The closest is Blindsight, which . . . Yeah.) Fantasy curses that happen to approximate Dissociative Identity Disorder are okay, but not really what I’m looking for.

United States of Tara I thought was a pretty good TV show representation.

Because that is what you want to watch on Christmas! If so, try Under the Shadow. It has no gore whatsoever (which I love). It also has a unique setting of Tehran during the Iraq-Iran War. It follows a mother and her daughter in an apartment building. After a rocket crashes into it, another tenant begins to tell them an evil spirit came in on it. I'd suggest not watching any trailers for it.

Also, WATCH IT IN THE ORIGINAL PERSIAN WITH SUBTITLES! The dub is awful.

The Southern Cake Book by the Editors of Southern Living - lots of good cake recipes

Call the Midwife, seasons 1 and 2, well-written, interesting characters

The Brave - likeable characters, interesting team dynamics

Spotlight - reminds me of All the President's Men, both in the grounding and in the building tension
