We make lobster chowder every year. No matter what else happens, no matter if we’re travelling and visiting someplace else, or eating at someone else’s house, the lobster chowder must flow.

We do English Muffin pizzas for breakfast, open presents, split off for naps/just chillin', and then come all back together for a feast later, usually around mid-afternoon.

We do stockings first think Christmas morning, then breakfast (usually coffee cake or waffles and sausage), then presents. We do dinner in the late afternoon, usually something seafood related or roast beef.

We always do Chinese food Christmas eve and play Christmas music.

We do midnight mass on Christmas Eve. In the morning we go and visit all our relative's houses and then come back, have our Christmas dinner, hang around for a bit, and then go off separately to our individual houses. I go to my boyfriend's house in the afternoon.

"Hanging" stockings off the back of the sofa because my parent's house doesn't have a fireplace. Once filled, the stockings just sit on the sofa. The "hanging" is really just draping and the stockings wouldn't stay put with stuff inside. We like to be very over-dramatic about the stocking hanging ceremony because draping stockings on a sofa is kind of silly.

We make tamales and atole and open our presents at the stroke of midnight. We also do karaoke and lots of dancing.
