103. Has there been any confirmation about that being the big reason? I actually agree with you, the idea of them catering to a vocal minority of internet fans like that really pisses me off, but is it absolutely confirmed? (I dropped out of fandom awhile ago because of the female character hate, so.)

103: Yeah, Kripke said that he wasn't really happy with where the character of Jo was going and took into account the fan reaction when he made the decision to let her go. To be honest, I think that he only cans characters when he agrees with the criticism directed towards them, because at a convention he basically told the Ruby haters to stfu and that she wasn't going anywhere.

But they had to let Katie Cassidy go because they can no longer afford her, so we'll see how this plays out for Ruby's character in season four.

103. Negative fan reaction is the reason Bela was killed for real on the show. But Ruby could still be around it's too soon to say with her.
