I'm an ace female, and if I were ugly, I don't think many people would fetishize my asexuality. But because guys often find me attractive, they sometimes have a "I can't have you so I want you all the more" reaction. Or, occasionally, they have a "I can't have you and also you're broken so I want to be the one to fix you" reaction.

Nah, I'm in the same boat and if we were ugly people would just say that "you think you don't want sex because you just can't get any."

Oh, I absolutely agree, and I'm incredibly sympathetic to ace people who have to deal with that bullshit. But I don't think the response you're describing is fetishizing ace people - just insulting them and denying the validity of their sexual identity.
