Never be ashamed by wanting to dance! I used to practice my routines down in the basement during breaks at my previous job. And about classes, go ask the dance place if they know somewhere that do classes for adults.

You are never too old to do something! I started boxing at 63! I love it, and I will continue as long as I can.

Granted, it's not dancing, but I have to say, it's got some fancy footwork!

You are never too old to dance, OP! I started ballet for the first time in my life when I was twenty-six (which isn't an old age, of course, but most professional ballet dancers start when they're barely school-age) and was far from being the oldest person in the class.

Also, anyone who would give you a hard time for returning to something that is fun and challenging and healthy and beautiful can go suck eggs. Making mistakes and such is inevitable, but it is integral to learning (or re-learning) things and means that you are taking risks, and both of those things are worthy of immense respect.

Oh, please go for it! You said it yourself, your feet remember the steps. Don't be self-conscious (other people are never looking at you or judging you nearly as much as you think, if you're insecure) and do it for your own enjoyment. Don't cheat yourself out of something you love. Who cares what other people think? It's not FOR them. It's for you.
