You can be in fandom without being overinvested. I didn't especially like the Last Jedi but I'm not angry about it. And I consider myself to be on the fringes of the fandom precisely because I think that some people take it way too seriously.

So I'm agreeing with the secret? Maybe I misunderstood it?

I guess I'm just confused about what you mean by being "overinvested"? Because from what you said about keeping it on the DL, it kind of sounded like what you objected to was just people... like... talking about it on places like Tumblr. So it was confusing to me, I guess.
