What does "my bias" mean? I see k-pop fans use this a lot. Does it just mean your favorite?

Yeah its your favorite member of the group. And 'bias wrecker' is the one member of the group that does something funny/sexy/relatable that makes you rethink your bias. And 'ultimate bias' (UB/Ult) is if you are into multiple groups and had to choose one bias out of all those groups.

The word bias doesnt even look real anymore. Im not even into kpop.

Anon, I know the feeling. I haven't been into SHINee for years, yet his death felt like a punch in the gut. Like, they were the first group properly introduced to me, so they were the gateway group for me before I got into TVXQ in 2008. Yup, what a train wreck that was.

Then in 2016, I ran back into the arms of j-rock because fuck all that noise.

TOP and Jjong are(please don't make me say were) my main male biases, so for both of them to have suffered and tried (much less succeeded) in killing themselves has made it hard to support - not because I don't understand k-idol pressures, and not because I can't sympathize, but as a fan I feel like I don't/can't contribute positively to the health and wellbeing of my favs.

It's hard. Because it's directly the fame and pressure that hurts them so badly, and technically we as fans contribute to that pressure. I know it's their managers and the whole complex pushing them so hard, and sometimes I feel like the answer is just... not being a fan anymore, because if there's no audience then they won't be pushed like this. But I can't stop, because their music and their personalities and friendships and everything are all so important to me. I don't know what to do. :(
