No, seriously, fuck 'em. Write what you want, publish what you want, and point and laugh at people who clutch their pearls and say OMG HDU instead of simply walking away from something clearly not meant for them. These people are not grownups, at least not mentally.

Well I mean.. trouble is these people don't just clutch their pearls and say "how dare you"

Look at the thread above. They doxx, they try to get people fired from their jobs, one person went as far as to find an artist and give them a needle laced cookie.

To be entirely honest, fear is very understandable with some of these people.

It's like being afraid of any other kind of harassment gone dangerously too far. Most people only deal with very minor harassment if any, and I personally don't feel discouraged from writing whatever I want, but it's not irrational to worry about that stuff happening to you.
