Re: question for makeup enthusiasts

Not really a makeup enthusiast, just someone who grows a lot of brow: I hope it never does.

I'm getting told nice things about my eyebrows for the first time without ripping half of them out constantly. The maintenance is so much less time-consuming and painful.

Awesome! I love heavy natural eyebrows. The kind of brows I'm talking about... not so much.

Yeah, I'm caught between admiring the skill of people who do really heavy makeup and just not getting it at all. My big nope is eyelash extensions, personally. There are places that glue does not belong, and my eyes are numero uno on that list. :/

Yes, eyelash extensions creep me out. But I have super long and thick natural eyelashes anyway, so I get that it is a look some people want to get and can't get naturally I guess. But I can't imagine gluing something to my eye.

I like thicker, more natural looking eyebrows, but I thought ayrt was referring to drawn-on eyebrows. I'm also not a fan of the drawn-on look, or overly-sculpted. I think plucking to keep some shape is great, but nothing too artificial. To each their own, though.

Agreed. I have no problem with thick eyebrows, I just don't like how artificially shaped some of them are. Like they were drawn on with Sharpie.

I didn't like the skinny plucked eyebrows that looked drawn on in pencil that I often saw in the early 2000s either.

I'm not a fan of drawing eyebrows on in any clearly unnatural way, whether it's plucking everything off and drawing on a thin like, or making them far thicker and more geometric than they actually are. I don't even like the results when I try to fill-in/"enhance" my eyebrows in any way, although I don't think that's categorically awful to do, and it depends on what you have to start with and your skill with the eyebrow pencil. If you have really thin eyebrows or lost them due to chemo or something, that's one thing, but don't do weird things to brows that are already perfectly fine looking.
