Do people actually moan when eating good food?

(Anonymous) 2017-12-29 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I read it all the time in fiction but I've never seen or heard anyone doing that. Do you moan when eating delicious food? ARE YOU THE MOANER?

I'd feel very weird to do that. Maybe in my head, by myself, but not out loud.

I don't think I've ever moaned, but I did eat a bomb cheesecake once and gasped because it was so damn delicious.

Define "moan", I guess? I say "mmmmm" sometimes but I don't think it sounds like a moan.

Every once in a great while.

And it has to be really good or really satisfying. But it's not like a loud moan.

Occasionally when eating an amazing dessert. But it is an intentional choice, not something automatic.

Only anime girls, but granted I would too if my food looked like it was straight out of a ghibli film.

No. I think the most I've ever said was maybe "mmm wow that's really good" or something.

No.

I don't think I've ever moaned, except when I was a teenager trying to express boredom or disappointment.

Only if it's really fucking good, but even then not like loudly and it's more like a please hum if anything.

Er, guilty as charged. Didn't even know I did it until a (now ex-) friend I was out with took me to task for it. Of course, then my Mom noticed I stopped when we went out for a meal, and said I always had.

Apparently I'm not "Herbal Essences" loud, but enough to be potentially embarrassing.

Oh god, never. That would be so weird and awkward, especially in restaurants.

Sometimes, but it has to be a once-a-year food experience, at least.

I've done it but not when other people could hear me.

Yeah.
But not in a remotely sexual way, so the trope where it provokes a sexual reaction irritates me.

Same. The "Mmmmm" and the "Oh my god" that mean "Wow that's tasty as fuck" are not remotely the same as a sexual "Uhhhnnnn" or a sexual "Ohhhgod."
