What GOOD things happened to you this year?

I moved to a place I really like and live super close to my job! (Bonus: I found a roommate on Craigslist and she's actually awesome!)

I took a couple really fun weekend trips with a friend!

Another friend moved back into town and now my closest friends live near me!

I got promoted and graduated.

Congratulations!

GOT MY LICENSE! It only took 10 years. :P

Quit a job with a horrible boss and just got hired for a job that I think I will really enjoy. :)

I passed the Texas bar, got sworn in as a Texas lawyer, and got a cat.

Congrats on all your accomplishments!

Lots of good stuff. I hooked up with qt 3.14. I contracted for and completed a huuuuuge project. As a result I got hired for a couple other small projects at a much higher pay than before. The eclipse happened and I got to see totality and it was AWESOME. I played lots of great games. It was pretty good.

When are you going stop playing video games. Aren't you over 30?

Nothing. Still in the same small town. Still uneducated. Trump is... you know what. Nothing has changed except the that fucking horrible last point.

Nothing. Nothing good has happened, and nothing good will ever happen as long as Trump is President. I fully expect he'll get us nuked January 1st.

My best friend moved back to town and now I can see her more often.

laura dern and baron davis are dating

1) I got a job. Finally. It just feels so good to pay back a little to my parents after so long.

2) Two of my bosses got me a Christmas gift. I was so surprised since I'm kind of a slow worker, but they've been really sweet to me so far.

I didn't die and nobody close to me did either. I'm counting it as a win. It gave me the opportunity to appreciate the little good things even if nothing really great happened.

I had 20 short fiction acceptances and my publisher has accepted book 2 in my novel series. People asked me to write stories for their anthologies. My most-often-rejected story was accepted by a wonderful podcast that did a fantastic job on it. I finished a novel and seven short stories. I have a writing plan for next year, and I know no plan survives first contact with the enemy but I'm going to try to make a go of this one and see how I do.

I have seen so many beautiful birds in my state and added several to my life list--I've caught bald eagles twice in a row, now, and great horned owls four times, on my camera. I was the first one (apparently) in the state to see a rare visitor. My bird feeder may be attracting a sharp-shinned hawk.

We mainstreamed my kid after homeschooling for ten years. He made the honor roll and all his teachers like him.

...yeah, it's been a good year.

I got my state ID - for the first time ever! (I'm only 31 so...)

Squashed back my depression enough to get over a lot of my issues and start writing again.

Started my son in school after a year's delay (so he's in 1st grade) due to a spiteful sibling. (hello long story)

Got to see my son learn so much in such a little amount of time thanks to school - the day he came home and read a book to me, I cried.

New laptop! T^T

Checked out new (to me) animus/mangus/video games yay! xD

Nobody in my family was admitted to the hospital.

I stayed employed! I could afford to replace my water heater when it died, and could afford to fix my furnace when it needed repairs. No health problems (knock wood). Life is unexciting, but good. :)

My son came to visit me for Passover. I started writing fanfic again.

* Still together with my boyfriend and we're doing great!
* Still have a good paying job for what it is (foodservice manager).
* Got a Nintendo Switch and BotW, Odyssey, and Splatoon 2 have been great games.
* Participated in NaNoWriMo and for the first time that I can remember, I actually wrote all 30 days. I've always made 50k but I didn't always write every day.

Sadly 2017 has been more awful than awesome imo but some good things have happened at least. :)
