Hating on fujoshi. I'm not even into BL and it's grating.

Yeah, agreed. Actually, bring social justice issues into BL one way or the other, frankly. You aren't an LGBT ally because you wank off to dudes boning, but you're not anti-LGBT because you do it, either. It's a perfectly valid and innately harmless thing to enjoy, as long as you aren't weird around actual gay people about it, live and let live.

There is a fair bit of weirdness regarding actual gay people going around fandom, which unfortunately can't be discussed in a nuanced manner due to the norms on tumblr.

Yeah, it's really annoying. I'm not even sure why, but it feels like there's more fujoshi bashing these days.

It seems to be mostly young (like, teenage) transgender boys doing this. I feel like it's probably an attempt to distance themselves from the stereotype, like they're afraid someone will accuse them of being a fujoshi who wants to be a guy. So they overcompensate by going on about how harmful and fetishistic fujoshi are.

Hating on fujos has always been a thing. Well, at least for the twenty years I've been fujoing. All that changes is who's being the loudest hating.

Only thing that's changed is what the loudest people are complaining about in my experience. back in the early 2000s there was a lot of homophobia from the ones that hated slash/yaoi, then in the mid-2000's it was that fujoshi's had internal misogyny and didn't like female characters enough, and now it's fujoshi are homophobic now.
