I get finding them boring, I think they are definitely the weakest actors on the show (tho I got a soft spot for Jon Snow). But considering they will likely be hooked up in the books as well, I don't see anything convenient about their relationship. Nor do I see how it simply exists for tying up loose ends. They all have different people that would be better, easier candidates for that.

It's the title, right? He's Ice, she's Fire, their boinking is the Song?

Or, ice is the ICE monsters and fire is the FIRE dragons.

It's both, really. Also the culture clash of southern Kings Landing v. frosty Winterfell, and the religions of the Weir Trees v. The Lord of Light, and the cold calculation v. passion of most of the opposing political parties.

I spent the entire last season so over both of them, and not even being surrounded by more interesting characters in nearly every scene could make them more interesting.

They've always been the least interesting characters to me, but ugh. They're both still very naive, and it's that much more obvious when I see Jon with Sansa or Dany with Tyrion who have both really undergone some character development and learned some hard truths. Dany and Jon are still talking about how different they are and going la la la look at my superior morals every chance.

Y'all are not paying attention to history. Especially your own.

The incest is funny as hell though. They don't strike me as people who could get into that without some serious backflipping on their precious morals. I want to see their faces when they realise.

GoT is so fun to rant about.

Would Dany flip out? Incest is a family tradition for the Targaryens. I don't think it would bother her much at all. Jon Snow will flip out, though, he was still raised a Stark and they don't approve of that.

In the show at least I think it's come up a few times that her family were all inbred murdering crazies for generations, and she's said she's different than the Mad King and she wants to be thought of differently by her people.

Can't imagine it would be popular with the people if she was known to be fucking her nephew. Her family were pretty hated and it seems to be fairly well known even if only as rumour by now that the Lannisters were more of the same.

She's got a pretty big chip on her shoulder about being the true heir blah blah blah too. Jon is a threat to her being queen of everything in more than one way. She's chosen her ambitions over her own happiness before, so even if she did love him I can see her doing that again. Daario?

That's just my thoughts anyway!

I haven't read any of the books so I can only appreciate how pretty these two are together. Neither of them are great actors (Dany's actress is particularly bad in everything I've seen her in, WHY) but considering incest is common in this universe, nothing about them getting together seems particularly ott to me? But I can agree about the chemistry. Chemistry is highly subjective but I find their acting very wooden, so maybe that's why I feel like there's no spark there (even when I'm clearly supposed to believe there is)?

i'm so goddamn sick of people taking shots at emilia clarke's acting.
