I managed to buy my freaking house! Same time last year I was a total mess because the bank was being a bag of dicks about the loan and its insurance and I thought I would never get it.
And, even though I haven't got paid yet and it'll be very very small, my boss promised I would get a little end-of-year bonus with my next paycheck.

On a fandom note, I discovered a new series that I love to bits and I watched quite a few very good movies.

What series?

I got to go to the Doctor Who Experience!

I learned to drive! It only took 10 years past when most people learn. But I finally did it!

I also started a new job that I am enjoying and think will work out really well for me.

But really, I LEARNED TO FRIGGIN' DRIVE!

Oh awesome! Driving can be super stressful to learn and achieving it is no small feat. I've also seen your job search posts and am really glad it's been working out for you so far. Job hunting sucks hard.

And job hunting did suck. I am glad I took a chance to apply for something I did not think I was qualified for.

i did my theory test in november and i'm looking at practical lessons in february time - only twenty years late :p

This is going to sound cliche, but all the bad things that happened actually showed me how many awesome people exist. I could've been alone, and people I saw going through crap could've been alone, but we weren't, and that's huge to me.

I wrote about 60k for exchanges and I received some treats too.

I lost 50 pounds, that's pretty cool.

I'm naturally thin, but whenever I hear or see someone who's lost a lot of weight, I always imagine the kind of hard work, determination, and commitment they put in, and I find it super impressive. I'm not sure I have that kind of stick-to-it-iveness myself.

I'm a slightly tipsy Brit so my brain just went "Oh shit, £50? That sucks."

In all seriousness, good on you. That takes a lot of motivation and willpower that I hope to find in the new year. <3

I had a joint surgery done which greatly improved the function in my hand and reduced the pain. I was on the waiting list for 23 months before they called me. The first time I was able to hand a can of pop in my hand once it was done I cried because I haven't been able to hold round things for about 5 years.

Why did you have to wait 23 months to have surgery? Are you in Canada?

Got it in one. I'm in Canada and it was considered an "elective" surgery.

That's fantastic, I'm so happy for you. I'm just sorry you had to wait so long. :(

I got a job! And I really like my job!

Still employed, still alive, still with my beloved, and have a potential hope that there's not going to be any devastating downturn going forward.

I went to E3! Managed to cross that off of my bucket list.

Learned to drive, moved into my new home. Planted trees.

I made a short film! It was for a class, and I had help, but I did it!
