sure. i'm just saying i didnt immediately get that it was supposed to be commentary about societal standards, vs. this person's personal feelings on what they perceive to be an entire gender's general failings

as stated, it could just as easily be a "men suck" joke about someone's personal low standards for boyfriends and how men keep failing them, as someone trying to make a joke about society having lesser behavioral expectations for men. that's all i'm saying
