That said, there's a difference between 'this story was trying, or at the very least wasn't negative' (i.e. maybe The Seekers, for my Western analogy?) and the other thing. The other thing can get fucked - there's enough media in the world to enjoy things without watching those that perpetuate the worst of our cultural and societal history - but if they're capital G 'Great' shows you're mostly enjoying except for the parts that are products of their time. Well. I don't know. In 50 years, we're going to look back and wince at how out of touch the media we're consuming now is, right? Hopefully?
