It looked fine up until the girl screaming in the hospital bed, and everything after was a mess.

I can't find Slenderman scary because I always think "Some people on the internet made this up a few years ago." Of course, most horror movies are things somebody made up, but for some reason I can't get past Slenderman's origin enough that I could get the heebie-jeebies walking along at night.

Slenderman had a great aesthetic and made for a good creepy-pasta/vintage photo collection. But since it's so inherently an internet thing, it's sort of weird that people are trying to make it a mainstream thing. It feels like it's just going to lose something that made it so charmingly scary.

At first I was excited for trashy horror but then the gore fest ft. disturbing imagery started and all the excitement was gone. :|

I'm getting a bit tired of recipe horror ideas that seem to involve:

1. popular meme
2. implied mind control
3. person acting crazy
4. oh yes, there's a shadowy monster.

The creeping shadow effect is such a cliche these days as well.
