Re: What phrase or saying do you find really cringy?
Thats why I feel so 'blerg' about 'coded' terms to be honest. It just seems like a way to shame people for not having the same headcanons. It makes me sad because headcanons are supposed to be fun IMO. Not used for bullying in fandom.
I feel guilty for this because it is a real thing in some cases. But , as someone who's been seen as much younger (and autistic) and often sort of "infantalized" (or "child-ized" if that's a word) most of my teen and adult life- I really hate "child-coded" and cringe every-time I see it. Even my own well meaning family members often indicated that they find it weird for me to talk about having a boyfriend or dating. It's really really annoying to have people impose the perception of being a child on you.
