Maybe in twenty years, watching this circus in real time is bizarre enough.

... if any of us is around in 20 years...

I'm hoping Coen brothers.

Eventually there will be a biopic where he's played by an attractive actor and portrayed as troubled and brooding but ultimately sympathetic, which will lead to a fandom that woobifies him... yeah, I do find that more hilarious than I probably should.

Why? The real shitshow is happening now. If you're gonna enjoy anything about this presidency, you might as well do it now while you have front row seats.

(Anonymous) 2018-01-05 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed^

(Anonymous) 2018-01-05 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
All we need is for the Frontline guy to narrate everything that is happening and we have the documentary situation covered.

(Anonymous) 2018-01-05 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
And while you can still afford popcorn for that matter.

(Anonymous) 2018-01-05 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
it will probably be more enjoyable when we've come out the other side and know whether or not everything ends up fine

Assuming we get out of this presidency alive...

I want at least one of those movies with Ron Howard doing an Arrested Development-style narration.

Just so long as one of the docudramas twenty years from now accidentally spurs a Trump/Banon fandom, so I can forward it on to Pence, should he still be amongst the living.

No need to wait 20 years for that. Look into the abyss and the abyss looks back at you:

God, not me. I don't think there's a single Trump impersonation that isn't unbearable (maaaaybe Seth Meyers, but his is pretty half-assed, which is probably why I don't hate it), and I can only imagine it getting worse the more distance between now and then there is.

I can't bear to look at him in 3 second newsclips now, nfw I want to see a movie.

A Book about his impeachment and subsequent prison time, though? I'm ready to read the fuck out of that now.

I'm still waiting for books about the campaign!

(Anonymous) 2018-01-05 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
There's already one out: Unbelievable, by Katie Tur.

Hillary Clinton wrote one, What Happened. And Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House deals with it from the Trump perspective from the quotes I've seen. I've not read it, though, so I have no idea how much it deals with the campaign vs the aftermath. I don't know if you'd prefer ones that cover both sides at once, though.

I wouldn't say enjoyable but I'm looking forward to that gossip book Fire & Fury that comes out tomorrow. I have my Kindle charged up and ready to go.

Oooh, good timing!

Have you read the new excerpt of the new book Fire and Fury in New York magazine? It's a riot. I can see why Mr Trump is suing, not that he has a case under USA law (nor should he, honestly).

Seriously, I am considering buying this book, and I never buy new books.

The Steele Dossier is already the perfect name for a political action-thriller.

I'm kind of hoping James Franco and Seth Rogan make a movie about it.

Must be nice to not have to worry.

I find it hard to believe some of the stuff in the Fire and Fury book. It would make amazing material for a film, though.
