What are you working on? Or, what do you hope to get written this year?

Working on: still picking my way through my

ladiesbingo prompts, one fandom at a time.
Hope to get written this year: edit, finish and post at least one of the three AR/what-if fics I started during NaNoWriMo last november.
(Hope to get written next year: ...edit, finish and post the two other AR/what-if fics... and start a couple more!! ~~I just love my new fandom so very much, OK?~~)

I wrote most of my original m/m slashfic, was proud of myself, told myself I'd have it edited and ready to go by the end of 2017. Well, I actually wrote only major scenes, because I'd write as inspiration took me. Now I'm left with a mess of pieces I need to string together and still somehow make sound nice. D: Dammit, this is why I should always right from start to end with zero jumping around or skipping the boring bits.

Anyway, I am making progress, though I feel like I basically have to start over to make everything coherent (and this thing is already 90k words long, yikes). This will be my first book, and my goal once I finish, besides drink wine, is to self-publish. I don't really care if no one buys it, but I'll feel like I really completed it once I've done that.

I'm working on fanmixes right now, but one of them is similarly themed to one of my WIPs, so I'm hoping it will give me writing inspiration.

Also I started a fanmix community on Tumblr for the Tolkien fandom. I want more fanmixes in this fandom.

Oh, and I did a few short things for some GameofCards challenges.

I'd like to get into a writing habit. Maybe ship some of my short stories out to start a rejection letter collection.

I'd like to get even one thing finished. I lose interest in finishing things when I have new ideas.

I'm working on several Star Wars stories. I'm also intending to sign up for AgeX and Star Wars Rare Pairs but I think I'll drop Yuletide. I want to start writing more consistently so I can get on top of the ideas I'm working on.

What are you planning on for AgeX? I'm thinking about joining maybe.

Star Wars pairs, maybe LOTR, and some small pairings. How about you? I have a lot of things I'm willing to write.

Mostly Star Wars, maybe some Marvel. I haven't done a lot of exchanges, so I sometimes blank on what I can request/offer.

I'm sure there will be a long list of pairings other people will nominate that you can choose from. Star Wars and Marvel will get a lot of nominations, I'm sure. Which characters were you thinking of? If I have some additional slots, I can nominate them when I do my own nominations.

Or do you mean you can't remember who you want to nominate when it comes time to nominate?

Saying I frequently can't remember when it comes time to nominate. I spend a lot of time looking at other people nominations and realizing I like that too.

Yeah, that happens to me too. I keep a list of things I want to nominate and add to it as soon as something comes to mind and I start my letters early but there's always something I forget or didn't think of. It's great when someone else remembers it or someone else comes up with something I didn't even think of but would love.

My goals for this year are to
a) finish my long-ass fics already
b) get published

Right now I'm working on one of aforementioned long-ass fics, and a short story.

I hope to finish an original story I've been working on and I'd like to get back into writing fic.

I've been working on Holiday stuff for an MMO a friend and I are developing. And writing DBZ fanfic because I don't want to read "Bulma becomes Vegeta's sex slave" anymore.

I have two original novels I want to finish/publish this year. Book 3 of my werewolf biker novels. And Book 2 or 3 of my warrior princess who is friends with a dragon mixed up fairy tale novels.

On the other hand, I need to finish an art portfolio and work up a resume and you know, get a job that pays bills.

I'm ambitious this year. Last year I finished a novel and eight short stories. This year I want to finish two novels (both of which are already begun, and one of which a publisher has expressed interest in), and twelve short stories. I have a monthly goal of 15000 words, so basically 500 words a day, which anyone should be able to do. I hope.

I'm working on a porny fic of my OTP. Then I need to write a fic for my friend's birthday. Then I'd like to work on my chaptered WIP's and actually finish them. And throw in some one-shots here and there as I'm doing it.

I’m making another attempt at a Hero’s Journey takedown I’ve been sitting on for years. Still stuck way too close to the beginning for my taste. I’m having a hard time introducing the narrator in an interesting manner . . .

Come to think of it, I have a pretty good introduction for the hero. What if I introduce him first, as the narrator recounts events he told her about later on? Then I tie it together with him finding and saving her . . . I need to start writing once I get access to a real computer.

Goals are to stop writing new things every time the wind changes and actually FINISH something. :|

My crossover fic. Not a random crossover; there's actually something tying the two universes together. While the fic will reference "that thing," it won't be based on it...if that makes sense.

I'd love to finish it within the next couple of months, with some massive editing, of course. Right now, I've been vomiting up the skeleton at a rate not seen in my writing queue since 2007. And not to toot my own horn, because quite frankly, my writing has never been that great and I've always struggled with it, but this is a goddamn good story so far. I want to do it justice. I want to complete it. And I want to share it with both fandoms. And regardless of how it's received... if it's the last fic I ever write in my lifetime, then I think I could be okay with that. (I still have some other unfinished projects, but it's been so long, everyone's lost interest anyway... me most of all, despite the fact I've dropped five chapters on one story in the last two weeks.)
