Unless you think you're meant to believe he shaves his chest/arms/etc, I'd vote strongly for describing him as being smooth and hairless.

I feel like a male character making the consistent effort to shave large ares of his body is a pretty specific bit of characterization, and is likely to seem OOC for a lot of male characters. I would find it really jarring, myself. Unless, that is, I genuinely believed the character was someone who would do that. But IMO there's no way Dean Winchester, Sherlock Holmes, or Steve Rogers are shaving their chests in the shower every two days (or at all). That just seems wildly OOC to me. Whereas the idea that for some reason they just don't grow any chest hair - while realistically unlikely - is not jarring to me.

But I suppose other people may feel opposite to how I do on this matter. YMMV and all that. Just my two cents.
