If Mum could have afforded them, I would have, but during the height of my unicorn stage (age 9-12) we were pretty badly off, and my Space Lego obsession was competing for b'day and Xmas present representation.

Though one of my Lego Space Police became a unicorn in human form (it was a story I made up that was an inspirational descendant of "The Last Unicorn").

After age 12 I started getting into fantasy novels, like David Eddings and the Forgotten Realms pulp novels, and LotR - that sort of reading, which veered me more into general fantasy stufff.
