I haven't read it yet. Someone recommended it to me a couple of years ago, I just haven't gotten around to it. . . that's a gorgeous cover though.

Personally I think it's too complicated a book to make into a movie. :(

Never heard of this, but it's now on my list, thanks, OP!

Obviously, I can Google, but this seems Fae-related, yes?

ok, just realized this is from the same person who wrote The Little Friend. Which led to an interesting discussion, when it was featured in a secret on this comm. Still gonna check it out, but have now prepared myself to feel hollow for a few days post the book.

Not the OP, but no. It's more literary mystery where you find out who was murdered in the beginning of the novel, but not why. It's a good book. I'd like to see it adapted into a movie too, but I'm not sure it'd work as well in that medium.

Yeah, I think a lot of the book is the atmosphere and even more than the casting, that needs to be perfect or the whole thing just collapses. I haven't even found much good fic for it because of this - lots of fic where nothing is actually wrong with it, but it's not right either.

People are so obsessed with this book. I'm sure a movie is coming.
