(Anonymous) 2018-01-08 12:02 am (UTC)(link)But I would never say that Thor acts more mature. He acts like a college frat boy most of the time. Which makes sense because he is pretty young in Asgard terms (in the first movie he was only just old enough to be crowned soon-to-be King).
And he also isn't supposed to be the same age? Bruce, Tony, and Clint are clearly supposed to be older. Natasha MIGHT be around the same age but I think she is supposed to be older as well. Thor is probably closest in age if you converted Asgard years to Earth years.
I don't really get where you got the impression that Captain America is supposed to be more emotionally and physically older than the rest of the Avengers. He is supposed to be a great leader but that has little do with age. He is still a young guy thrown into a war (several of them) and then a completely alien world that required him to stand up and try to lead a random group of people that may or may not get along.
Re: What are some of the worst castings you've seen?
He 'died' at age 25 (comics) or 27 (movies), and when he woke up in the 'future', to him everything he'd gone through (including a war he didn't know was over at first), had happened about two weeks ago. What did he do in any movie that made him seem emotionally immature?
He seemed depressed and cut off in Avengers (especially evident in the deleted scenes), and while not as isolated in WS, he's still pretty much just doing team/work stuff, and not socializing much beyond work 'friends' and his ninety-something long-lost love.
