Maybe we're talking about two different things then. The Monty Hall problem is explicitely based on a game show and only works when the logic and rules of that show are applied. There are similar problems but that's the one I'm talking about.
Because if you just ask someone "this door is out of the equation, only two doors are left" the solution is different than the one in the other problem.
