I just don't agree, though... VII was a remix of IV, so they don't really get credit for a solid film, since I think it's also inferior to IV as a movie. I wasn't impressed by R1 structurally. VIII is the only one I thought was at all solid.
Sorry I'm not an appreciative enough fan for you?
It's not even a "my childhood"thing, it's just that given the choice, the new ones aren't the ones I'd rush to rewatch.
