All I can say is that (dramatic rock music) is making me laugh. I love when subtitles/closed captioning are like that.

One of my favourites was (ducks gab) as background sounds during a scene at a lake.

LOL, who was it on fs who said that cryptozoological media was dead?

So, on the one hand, I think this is broadly true of the genre of fringe television in general. It's basically conspiracy exploitation - presenting the dumbest, least cogent, most splashy versions of whatever the topic is. You're (almost certainly) right about this show, and I think you can generalize that to most of the other shows in the same genre.

On the other hand, I'm not sure that these fields of inquiry don't deserve that somewhat. Because the average person invested in any of this stuff is extraordinarily credulous and given to believe in complete nonsense. Even relatively responsible researchers into any of this stuff are given to wild claims and a lack of rigor. It would be hard for them to air an intellectually serious, responsible take on these topics, even if they were interested in doing so. People like this, and shows like this, do detract from the legitimacy of the field more generally - but not by all that much.

LEAVE BIGFOOT ALONE.

To address the secret, I guess. It's a little difficult when it's a field that basically only exists out of sensationalism about an unconvincing clip. The choice was probably just made on whether or not he was charismatic in a way that appeals to the audience, so. I think you're expecting a bit much for the producers to care about academic credentials in cryptozoology.
