The yips are so fascinating. What's most interesting is that it's usually one specific action that they become unable to do - for instance, in baseball, it's often you stop being able to throw strikes as a pitcher, or throwing from second base to first base if you're a fielder. There was one catcher a few years ago who stopped being able to throw the ball back to the pitcher. It was really weird.

Apparently it's also a thing in sports like archery where you have to put all this concentration into one specific motion. It's really interesting.
