I can't get into cosplay fame. I guess because it seems vain and shallow and fosters ego in people. An acquaintance is trying to get cosplay famous through Facebook and has shirked commissions she was supposed to do for costumes she wanted to do for herself instead for no other reason than just wanting to be at a con as that character ASAP. My sister and her dance partner never got to practice their routine for a convention show in proper cosplay, and it threw off part of their act because they didn't know how to take into account how their costumes were constructed and moved with them.

It just seems like a weird thing to get "famous" for, basically dressing as fictional characters "gud." Making costumes and probs is an amazing skill that I feel like could be put into better, productive use in a career somehow. Plus there's so much that's already problematic with cosplay, and cosfame just seems to magnify and revel in all that junk and even put it on a pedestal.
